The Department of Pharmacognosy is a vital branch of pharmaceutical sciences that focuses on the study of medicinal drugs derived from natural sources such as plants, animals, and minerals. At our college, the Pharmacognosy Department plays a foundational role in bridging traditional knowledge and modern scientific research. The department is dedicated to the exploration, identification, isolation, and quality control of bioactive natural products. With well-equipped laboratories, experienced faculty, and a strong emphasis on research and innovation, the department fosters a deep understanding of the natural origins of drugs and their therapeutic applications. It prepares students to contribute to the development of safer and more effective natural health products, aligning with the global resurgence in herbal medicine and natural therapies.
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department is dedicated to the design, synthesis, and development of pharmaceuticals. The department is committed to advancing knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry through research, education, and industry partnerships. The faculties in the pharmaceutical chemistry department experienced professionals and promote teaching and learning in various chemistry subjects by inculcating various ICT tools that meet with international standards. The mission of the department is to provide high-quality education and training in pharmaceutical chemistry, foster innovative research, and develop new therapeutic agents that improve human health. The department collaborate with pharmaceutical companies to stay at the forefront of pharmaceutical chemistry research and development.
Pharmacology is the branch of Medical Science which is concerned about the drug kinetic and dynamic functions during various treatments (Therapeutics) of diseases and disorders on the living systems. In our department strives a high quality education by providing effective pharmacological knowledge to meet the current industrial needs. All our faculties (6 Faculties) published more than 50 national and international articles also attended 100's of scientific sessions and workshops. Departmental labs are well-equipped for the pursuit of research, and our faculty members use a wide variety of experimental methodologies in pre-clinical and molecular pharmacology using softwares.
Mission: Our mission is to provide high quality pre-clinical education in pharmacology, Toxicology and therapeutics for our pharmacy students also aiming to provide live animal study workshops in the forthcoming academics.
The Pharmaceutics Lab is a critical component of pharmaceutical education and research, where students and researchers explore the formulation, preparation, and evaluation of various dosage forms. In this lab, learners gain hands-on experience with techniques used to develop tablets, capsules, ointments, suspensions, and other drug delivery systems. It provides essential insights into the principles of drug stability, bioavailability, and controlled release. The lab is typically equipped with advanced instruments such as tablet compression machines, dissolution apparatus, and viscometers, allowing for the accurate analysis and optimization of pharmaceutical products. Overall, the Pharmaceutics Lab bridges theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for roles in drug development and manufacturing. We have four numbers of Pharmaceutics labs for under graduations including Microbiology and Biotechnology. We have two numbers of Pharmaceutical labs exclusively for post graduation. We have four doctorates in our department with a wide and vast experience in research in various disciplines like, NDDS, nano-particles, Floating drug delivery system, hydro gel, wound healing drug delivery system, and wound healing dressing materials.
